Stryker Branch Library Sets Summer Reading Programs

The Stryker Branch Library invites area children and families to take part in the exciting programs that will be offered during Summer Reading! With a theme of “Tales and Tails” summer reading will run from June 8 through June 24.

Programming will start on Tuesday, June 8 with a “Summer Reading Kickoff” at 11:00am. Nature’s Nursery, a wildlife rehabilitation and rescue center, located in Whitehouse, OH, will be bringing some animal friends to the program! On Wednesday, June 9, kids will join in the fun for a “Rock Scavenger Hunt and a Puzzle Match Game”! Be sure to stop in from 1:00 to 2:00pm, for this treasure hunting program and don’t forget your thinking cap and spy eyes! There will be prizes and sweet treats for all. On Thursday, June 10 attend “Stories, Activity, and Snack, Oh My!” Don’t miss out on this fairytale fun! There will be stories, snacks, games, and crafts, from 1:00 to 2:00pm.

Back by popular demand, come see the Exotic Zoo on Tuesday, June 15 at 11:00 am. Get close to many live exotic animals, such as mammals, reptiles and birds from around the world! Be sure to mark this date on your calendar, as you don’t want to miss this exciting event! “Storytime with Police Chief Steve” will be held on Wednesday, June 16 at 1:00pm. Don’t miss this opportunity to interact with Stryker’s Police Chief Steve Schlosser, as he’ll be reading several stories. Kids wear your uniforms and have your picture taken in our photo booth with Chief Steve. Parents, be sure to bring your cameras! “Stories Activity, and Snack, Oh My!” will be held again on Thursday, June 17. There will be stories, snacks, games, and crafts, from 1:00 to 2:00pm.

On Tuesday, June 22 at 11:00am, attend the Team Zoom Canine Entertainment performance, perfect for all ages! This action packed event features expertly trained dogs showcasing unbelievably long Frisbee catches and gravity defying agility vaults, to jumping rope, hula-hooping, dancing and darting through an obstacle course. Team Zoom has performed at dog shows throughout the Midwest, and now is stopping by the Stryker Library! At 11:00am on Wednesday, June 23, take part in “Drummunity”. A “drummunity” circle is a high energy, fun, and empowering activity for any age. The drum circle facilitator will bring her collection of instruments to transform our community into a drummunity! This will be an inspiring program for kids of all ages! Attend “Stories Activity, and Snack, Oh My!” on Thursday, June 24. There will be stories, snacks, games, and crafts, from 1:00 to 2:00pm.

At 11:00am, on Tuesday, June 29 a very special program will be coming to the library! Attend “Cirque Amongus”, a hands on learning experience that will teach kids different circus tricks! The program will end with a colorful performance, in which every child is a star! Parents bring your cameras, and capture some great photos of your child performing! There will be “Tales to Tails Puppet Show” on Wednesday, June 30, at 1:00pm. Join in the fun as you watch puppet shows in our very own puppet theater, with a special treat after the performance. The Summer Reading Closing Party, with a theme of, “Everything Red/White/Glue!” will be held on Thursday, July 1 at 1:00pm. Don’t miss this party filled with surprises, games, patriotic snacks and prizes!
