This holiday commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States on June 14th, 1777. Join Local History Manager, Jared Schnee in the program "Flag Day" as he explores the history of Flag Day and the various flags flown by the United States. All participants will go home with a 5 x 9.5 ft U.S.A Flag and a Flag display case. Register EXCITING NEWS! Along with having our online Williams County Obituary Index at obits.mywcpl.org/, Williams County Public Library has partnered with Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library by integrating the Williams County obituaries into the Ohio Obituary Index! The Ohio Obituary Index started in 2001 with public libraries becoming partners with data entering in the system. Today, the index stands at over 3.7 million obituaries index on top of the 120,000 obituaries added from WCPL. The Williams County Public Library joins the list of 70 other partnered libraries across 41 counties of Ohio. It is important to learn how to prevent and clean these stones. Jared Schnee will show you how to properly clean gravestones, & each participant will go home with the necessary items to properly clean a gravestone. This program will be at Bryan's, Fountain Grove Cemetery. Meet at the mausoleum. Register. Gravestone Decorations, May 7th, 6:00PM In honor of Memorial Day, join WCPL Local History Manager, Jared Schnee in creating flower and flag decorations for your loved one’s gravestones. All attendees will be able to create their own gravestone flower decorations to keep. This program will be held in the Harmon Room. Register
