Monarch Watch-When will the Butterflies Hatch?:, Through April, During Open Hours Observe the magical transformation of monarch butterflies—starting from tiny eggs and following their journey as they hatch into caterpillars. Each week, we’ll check in on our monarchs’ progress, learn fun facts about their life cycle, and make our best guesses about when the first eggs will hatch! Participants of all ages can submit their predictions and follow along as we record changes and discoveries. Prizes will be given to the most accurate guesses at the end of the month. Homeschool Young Artists’ Workshop, April 1st, 10:30AM, For Ages 5-12 Learn about different art techniques & the lives of artists throughout history. Register. A Bug’s Life Movie Night, April 13th, 5:30PM We’ll be screening Pixar’s A Bug’s Life and enjoying some bug-themed snacks that are sure to delight (no real bugs involved!). Bring your friends, family, and your favorite blanket and settle in for a night of laughter, adventure, and tiny heroes with big hearts. Open to all ages. Milkweed Makers Workshop, April 20th, 5:30PM Learn about monarch butterflies and how you can help support their survival at this hands-on library program. We’ll talk about the monarch life cycle, why milkweed plants are essential to their habitat, and how creating pollinator-friendly spaces makes a difference. Participants will make easy-to-plant milkweed seed balls and seed packets, learn simple tips for growing and caring for milkweed, and leave with everything they need to get started at home. Whether you have a garden, a yard, or just a small outdoor space, this program will help you take meaningful steps to support monarchs and other pollinators. Register. Zines-Make Your Own Comic Book, April 21st, 4:00PM, For Teens Discover the art of self-publishing zines! Learn how to turn a single sheet of paper into a mini magazine through simple folding techniques, then explore the basics of creating a comic—developing ideas, planning panels, and telling a story through words and images.
