Christmas Movies with LHC Film Club

Enjoy Wednesday night and Friday afternoon entertainment with the Local History Center Film Club! The Film Club will show movies throughout each month free to the public, on designated Wednesdays and Fridays. Wednesday movies will begin at 6:00 pm, and Friday movies will play at 1:00 pm. All movies will be shown in the Harmon Room of the Local History Center. In the month of December, the Film Club will be showing beloved Christmas classics!

Essential OIls Classes

doTerra© Wellness Advocate, Gayla Chaffee will be hosting an Essential Oils Introductory Class at the Local History Center on Monday, November 26th. From 6:00 to 7:00 pm, learn about the basic essential oils and how they boost your immune system, and aid in your overall wellness. With the upcoming cold and flu season, now is the time to have all your questions on essential oils answered. This is a FREE event!

Fun October Programs

Have fun in October at the Pioneer Branch Library! Along with regular weekly programming, the library will be putting on some special events. On Thursday, October 25 kids in Kindergarten through 3rd grade can watch an episode of Disney’s©, “Jake the Pirate.” Attendants will also take part in activities such as Walk the Plank, and Cannonball Toss. Then make your own eye patch, and learn to growl like a pirate! This FREE event will run from 3:00 to 4:30 pm, and you must register to attend by Tuesday, October 23.

Celebrate Woodland Animals Month: Meet a LIVE WOLF

The Bryan Main Library will be celebrating Woodland Animals during the month of October! 

The last event of the month will teach on one of the most popular woodland animals, with the presentation, “The Wolf: Fact vs. Myth” Held on Wednesday, October 17 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm, learn about the family life, hunting habits, and folklore of the wolf. This event will be held in the Carnegie Room, and a LIVE WOLF will be at the library throughout the presentation.

Weekly Fall Programming

Fall programming at the Stryker Branch Library has started! The library will offer several weekly programs for kids to enjoy. On Mondays the library will hold Panther Pals, an afterschool program for 3rd and 4th grades, from 3:15 to 4:00 pm. The program will offer a different activity each week. There will be crafts, games, cooking, stories, snacks, games and fun. If your child is attending this weekly program, please notify the library of any food allergies. Panther Kidz is an afterschool program for grades kindergarten through 2nd grade.

Afterschool Kids Programs

Afterschool programming at the Pioneer Branch Library will be starting soon! The library will be holding a couple weekly programs running from September through December. On Tuesdays there will be “Tuesday Twisters,” starting on September 04. Lego club will then take place weekly on Thursdays, starting September 06. Both of these weekly programs will be held from 3:00 to 4:00 pm, and are for kids in grades Kindergarten through 6th grade. The Pioneer Branch Library is located at 106 Baubice Street. Adult Weekly Programs

Starting in September, the Bryan Main Library will hold a couple weekly programs for adults! “Coffee and Crafts” will be held every Wednesday, from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Wake up every Wednesday morning with a cup of delicious coffee, and a fun, creative craft! “Fiber Friends” will meet on Thursdays from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
