On Monday, November 19 Bobbi Schlosser, who has written and illustrated the book, Pilgrim will be holding a book reading at the Stryker Branch Library from 3:15 to 4:00 pm. The book accounts the true Thanksgiving rescue of Mrs. Schlosser’s cat Pilgrim, and teaches that the smallest kindness is never too small! This book is the perfect read for the Thanksgiving holiday.
On Monday, November 12 at 6:00 pm, meet local author Carol Castor who will be at the Stryker Branch Library to read her children’s book A Mound of Evidence.
A Mound of Evidence is the story of a 21st-century girl, Aubrey Burke, who gets transported magically into the life and times of another little girl living somewhere around 500 C.E. in the Hopewell Indian tradition. The two girls’ adventures take them through a day in the life of the people of this era.
Kids are invited to pick a favorite book and “Read with a Super Hero” at the Stryker Branch Library! Once a month a different super hero will be visiting the library to listen to readers. On Thursday, October 18, children ages newborn through 6th grade, can read to Superman! Reading time is 3:15 to 4:00 pm. Other scheduled super hero visits are on Thursday, November 15 and January 17, there will not be a super hero visit in December. Stay tuned to see which super heroes will be at the library in November and January!
Kids are invited to “Build a Fall Animal” at the Stryker Branch Library on Monday, October 15. The workshop will start at 6:00 pm, and attendants can choose to build 1 out of 3 Halloween themed animals. This FREE program is for age’s toddler through 6th grade. As class size is limited to 27 participants, registration is required by Saturday, October 13. Registered children must be accompanied by an adult.
