Are you interested in learning about your family history, but don’t know where to start? Then the Edgerton Branch Library has the perfect program for you! Adults are invited to the library to learn “Genealogy 101” on Saturday, November 10th from 10:00 to 11:30 am. WCPL Local History Coordinator, Jane Huffman will put on a presentation on how to begin the search for family history. Helpful resources and information on the best research techniques to trace ancestry will be provided.
The Edgerton Branch Library would like to invite area children to make an appointment to reserve their time to come and read to a visiting therapy dog. “Tail Waggin’ Tutors” will be held at the library each Monday, starting on November 5th, and running through November 19th. From 3:30 to 4:30 pm, children will be able to read in 15 minute intervals to either Bekka or Rusty, Australian Terrier therapy dogs.
The Edgerton Branch Library is inviting adults to attend a “Chalk Couture” class on Monday, November 19, at 6:00 pm. Chalk Couture is the newest and easiest way to express your creativity! Instructed by Brianna Phillips, attendants will use vinyl transfers, along with non-toxic water soluble pastes, to create beautiful custom works of art. There is no cost to attend, but you must register by Friday, November 16, as class size is limited to 15 participants.The Edgerton Branch Library is located at 319 North Michigan Avenue.
The Edgerton Branch Library invites 4th and 5th graders to join “The Breakfast Club”. Held on the 2nd Saturday of each month, from 9:00 to 10:00 am, “The Breakfast Club” is a fun book club that includes a hot, homemade breakfast! Come in your jammies on Saturday, October 13, and discuss the book, “The 13th Floor: A Ghost Story” by Sid Fleischman. As this book has an AR book level of 4.4, and is worth 4 AR points, participants will be able to use this book to help meet their AR goal at school.
