Bryan - Main Library
Bryan Municipal Utilities will be bringing a piece of their heavy equipment, a digger, to be on display in the Bryan Public Library parking lot on Thursday, June 27 at 11:00 am as part of the Summer Reading program, “Dig into Reading.” Area children are invited to come to the “Touch a Truck” event so they can experience the heavy equipment up close. Moms and Dads, bring your cameras if you want to take a picture of your child next to the big digger! For more information, call Vickie Zippay at 419-636-6734 ext. 243.
Jackie Boyd will be bringing Ike the therapy dog to the Children’s Department of the Bryan Library on Friday afternoons at 2:00 pm this summer. Children are invited to come and read to Ike or just visit with him and sit and pet him, if they wish. Ike’s visits will allow students to practice the skill of reading in a relaxed environment. Most children seem to have a natural love for dogs, and it makes them happy to be around them. Having a therapy dog in the library builds excitement about reading and is a great opportunity for children to improve their reading skills. For more information about Ike’s visits, please contact Vickie Zippay at 419-636-6734 ext. 243.

Come meet Melanie Boulis, author and Library Assistant at the Bryan Library, who will be talking about her book Between Heaven and Healing. She will also have her book for sale and will be signing copies.
Between Heaven and Healing shares the inspirational story of a young girl’s journey through terminal cancer and her parents’ eventual realization that faith is not knowing why, but still believing in His goodness and eternal life where all will be made right, where cancer is nonexistent, and where there will be no more tears.
