Award-winning author Ann Charles will be making an appearance at the Stryker Branch Library to talk about her book series, perhaps do a reading of her work, and answer questions from the audience. Ann Charles writes romantic mysteries that are splashed with humor. For her first book, Nearly Departed in Deadwood, she won the 2010 National Daphne du Maurier for Excellence in Mystery/Suspense award AND the 2011 National Romance Writers of America Golden Heart award.

Frederic W. Strobel II will be talking about his book First...A Dream: History of the ARO Corporation on Monday, March 5th at 6:30 in the Harmon Room in the West Annex Building of the Williams County Public Library in Bryan. He will be giving his presentation to the Williams County Writers’ Group, but the meeting will be open to the public, and everyone interested in hearing about the book is invited to attend. Following his talk, he will be selling his book and signing it for interested parties.
Refreshments at the “Meet the Author” night and book signing will be provided by the Friends of the Bryan Library. Questions about the display or book presentation and signing can be directed to Jane Kelly at 419-636-6734 ext. 275.

A movie starring the Three Stooges has been chosen for Community Movie Night at the Stryker Branch Library on Tuesday, March 6, at 6:30 pm. Everyone is invited to come, have a few laughs, and join in the fun. Drinks will be provided. Those attending may bring their own snacks to share, if they wish. The Edon Branch Library will be hosting a series of programs centered on healthy eating. These will be presented by All Things Food in Bryan.
The first in the series will be Delicious Diabetic eating. It will be held on Monday, March 12th from 6:00 - 7:00 in the meeting room.
The purpose of WCGS is the preservation of county records and family research. Monthly meetings are held on the second Monday of each month, excluding July and August, in the conference room of the West Annex of the Bryan Public Library. The public is invited to the meetings.

- learn how to use a telescope
- build and use a Galileo scope
- take photographs of other galaxies
- program telescopes in Arizona and at Harvard University
- speak to astrophysicists at Harvard University
- create a display of astrophotography

Materials for the craft will be provided, but class size will be limited to 12 people. This class is for adults only. Sign up early if you would like to attend. National Puppy Day is going to be celebrated on Friday, March 23rd from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm in the Children’s Department of the Bryan Library. Dogs and puppies from the Williams County Humane Society will be at the library to visit with the children. Everyone is invited to come and see the animals and is encouraged to bring a donation for the Williams County Humane Society.
We will be accepting the following donations for the Humane Society: bleach, Pine sol, Lysol spray, large hand sanitizer (pump), Clorox wipes, tall kitchen trash bags, 55 gallon trash bags, 39 gallon trash bags, paper towels, toilet paper, laundry soap, pet carriers, dog and cat leashes and collars, dog and cat toys, any Hills Science Diet food (The shelter is on a feeding program with Science Diet.), copier/printer paper, manila folders- 8 1/2 x 11 size, Sharpie markers, batteries (all sizes), sticky notes, spiral note books, old blankets, old towels (any size), and money. We will also be accepting these items donated to be recycled: aluminum cans, ink cartridges, and toner.
