Bryan, West Annex - Local History Center

Local poet, Connie Morrow Vincent, who wrote the poetry anthology, A Time of Truth and Trust, will be holding an author event in the Harmon Room of the West Annex Building of the Main Library in Bryan on Tuesday, May 14 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. The public is invited to come and meet Mrs. Vincent. She will be talking about her poetry and about the publishing process and will also be reading some of her poetry. She will have copies of her book available for purchase and hold a book signing.

A Time of Truth and Trust is a collection of 27 poems that relates Vincent’s emotions around themes like motherhood, depression, aging, truth, death and time. They are inspired by scriptures from the Bible and by real-life occurrences. Writing poems is sometimes a kind of therapy for her; when she is upset about something, she finds that it helps her to write a poem about it. Mrs. Vincent hopes her anthology will encourage readers and draw them closer to God.

Local author Brenda Young will be holding an author event at the West Annex Building of the Main Library in Bryan on Monday, April 29, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.  She will talk about her book, A Portrait of Dawn, have copies available for purchase, and hold a book signing.  This event is free and open to the public, and everyone is invited to attend.
